“Aura Que” – New Range for 2020

“Aura Que” is the great range of fashion items designed by Laura Queening, a fashion designer dedicated to ethical production, and working with small producer groups in developing countries. Laura has worked with NLT’s fair trade workshop for 10 years to develop a range of fashion accessories and the skills amongst our staff to be able to make them.

Laura says:

“Our new AURA QUE products have arrived from Nepal and we are super excited to be launching  our new ceramic jugs, eco felt soap pebbles and more!

To celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight, we are offering 10% discount on all web orders through our online boutique.  Use code FTFT10 at the checkout (until 8th March).

It’s now Fairtrade Fortnight, a campaign by the Fair Trade Foundation to promote mainly food products such as coffee, bananas and chocolate with the Fairtrade UK certification. It is a great opportunity to learn more about Fair Trade and fairly traded products that care about the people who make these products.

As our AURA QUE accessories are made of many different components and materials, due to this complexity, currently most fashion products cannot be labelled Fair Trade with the symbol shown on food products such as bananas, chocolate and coffee.  However, we do work with artisan groups in Nepal that are members of the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO), following their principles of Fair Trade guidelines, and we are a proud member of BAFTS – the supportive UK network for Fair Trade shops and suppliers.

Accreditation is important but personally for me, it’s about the people I have been working with over ten years now and its most important to try to keep consistent orders and develop new products to ensure work and employment. Your AURA QUE purchases help us to sustain this work and give more orders to our artisans, practical and empowering help for them to provide for themselves and their families.
