Nepal Leprosy Conference 2025

The Ministry of Health and Population, supported by the Sasakawa Health Foundation and the WHO, held the Nepal Leprosy Conference 2025 in May in Kathmandu. Over 200 people attended including persons affected by leprosy, health workers and academics. A number of NLT staff were able to attend.

Discussions centred on achievements and challenges, including key recommendations to guide the forthcoming National Leprosy Strategy 2026-2030.

Lalgadh Leprosy Hospital and Services Centre was held up as an example of good practice of the bottom up approach to tackling stigma and discrimination.
