Update on Neelam – September 2013
A little while back we described the situation of Neelam, who had come back into Lalgadh in May with a severely infected foot ulcer. She was very ill but recovered well, although it was clear that her foot was in such a poor state, only a below-knee amputation would really help to make life easier. After a transfer to Anandaban Hospital in Kathmandu, the amputation went ahead and Neelam is now back at Lalgadh again, recovering and preparing for the next stage. This will involve a visit to Green Pastures Hospital in Pokhara, for the fitting of a good quality prosthesis. Please pray for Neelam. It is a very serious thing for a girl of 11 to face a future in Nepal with disability, let alone disability caused by leprosy.
