Tree providing shade
In the early 1990’s as Lalgadh Hospital was being built Eileen Lodge (Founder) planted a tree outside the outpatients department. Her hope and vision was that it would provide shelter for those waiting to be seen by the doctors.
Here is a picture of that tree, all grown up with patients sheltering from the blistering heat of a Nepali summer.
People sit and rest, have a midday snooze, eat lunch, have a gossip and just generally relax under the now huge branches, very grateful for the shade they provide.
It has been decorated with Maithili painting which would have delighted Eileen very much.
