Christmas at Lalgadh

At 6.30 pm on Christmas eve every year  the hospital holds a Carol Service which is greatly enjoyed by everyone.   All the staff get involved, singing or playing instruments. Over 100 inpatients – children, adults, elderly – hospitalized at Lalgadh Hospital for treatment of severe leprosy complications – gather in the colourfully painted, decorated recreation room of our Children’s Unit.

Here is a picture of Meena practising Christmas carols on her flute.

They also hand out presents to the patients who are in hospital.

Usually something to keep them nice and warm during the winter cold.

Then after the church service at Christmas time they have a big meal cooked outside and everyone is invited to eat including villagers living close by.
