Phillip cared for the sick too ……

The nation will be saying goodbye to Prince Phillip this Saturday.   He was a man who had a heart for the ‘common man’ and reached out in various ways to try and make their lives better.

In 1956, for example, the Queen and Prince Phillip visited Nigeria.  Whilst there they visited a Leper colony.

They did so, not simply to visit Commonwealth citizens suffering from leprosy but more significantly to allay the widespread, irrational fear that was attached then (and often now) to any physical contact with the disease.
